I was a young Freshman at Syracuse, with drive and too many dreams. My major changed twice and my interests were all over the place. I had no idea what I was going to do. Did I want to major in psychology? Business? IT? PR? No clue.
I knew I liked public relations because my mom was in PR and I knew I liked music; That's about all I knew. So, at 19 years old in the summer of 2014, after returning from Israel, I began at Interscope Geffen A&M Records as a public relations intern.
To say I was overwhelmed would be an understatement. I was a young girl working in a huge office with real clients who really needed me. I worked on event calendars for many major artists, accompanied my boss Christine on magazine interviews at Cosmopolitan with artists, and even spent a few early morning at Good Morning America with Aloe Blacc and Phillip Phillips. The best part was getting the 'staff' pass! It was a dream come true.
When I wasn't doing exciting trips around NYC, I was mostly nominating artists for Grammys (I know, it was super cool). I worked for artists such as Imagine Dragons, Aloe Blacc, BORNS, Carly Rae Jepsen, Ellie Goulding, Eminem, Lady Gaga, Lana del Ray, The 1975, Zed, X Ambassadors, & more.
This summer was such a surreal experience, learning about an industry and a career path that I didn't know I was capable of. I learned about hard work and long hours, digression when working on campaigns, how to keep my cool in front of celebrities, and that the NJ Transit is no fun to commute on.
Magazines, talk shows, grammy nominations, press releases, & more.
