On October 22-24, 2017, Making Social Media Matter took place at Boston University. This 3 day workshop brought together the most brilliant minds in social media analysis and taught 65 guests how to perform analytics, how to use five different platforms, and the importance behind these skills.
When I was brought on in August, I began working on marketing materials, including the website, before I even stepped foot onto the Boston University campus. We promoted the event on a variety of Boston websites, as well as did a lot of email marketing on list serves and to other universities.
People from all over the world were in attendance that weekend. There were professionals, students and educators from Crimson Hexagon, the United Nations, Deloitte, Johnson & Johnson, & more. There were tutorials and certifications in Crimson Hexagon, Gephi, BUTCAT, NodeXL and Discover Text. This was my first experience with a variety of analytic tools and I really got to know each platform and it's functions.
After many long days, many social media posts crafted and a lot of emails, the event went by in the blink of an eye! It was an amazing conference to be apart of and I really enjoyed getting to meet so many people that love what I love.
